New Range Manitransit
After 10 years of expertise, MANITOU continues to perfect its products to offer a continually improved service to transport professionals. Which is why now haulierscan choose from a completely updated range of MANITRANSIT truck-mounted forklifts. To satisfy customers' demands for comfort, safety and quality, the new range will meet four major objectives:
Increase the engine power;
Increase their crowding power;
Improve the design of the machines;
Optimise the number of models in the MANITRANSIT range.
More Power
New Engine
On 4 of the new models in the range (TMT 2520 SR, TMT 2515 CR, TMT 2520 C and TMT 2520), the former LISTER PETTER engines will be replaced by PERKINS engines. These will give 25% greater power, from 39 to 50 HP. In addition, since most other MANITOU models are equipped with PERKINS engines, users will also benefit from the agent's expertise for these engines and availability of spare parts. KUBOTA engines have been retained on the TMT 2020 S and TMT 2017 C models. These are light engines that are ideal for the lighter forklifts that have lesser capacity or are designed for "courtyard" use.
Stronger Reach
The telescopic reach of the new models has been extended to improve its digging capacity (carriage tilt). This capacity is very useful for handling long or heavy loads.
The new reach has also made it possible to slightly increase the lift height and lifting capacity.
Drive
All models in the range have 3-wheel drive. Moreover, all TMTs are equipped with an anti-skid device ("movement spread") that is activated by foot, making it possible to get round even the trickiest situations.
Comfort and Design
New Joystick
The new models in the MANITRANSIT range are equipped with the new exclusive MANITOU Joystick. The big advantage and differentiating feature of this Joystick, is its integrated direction switch - a simple switch to select the "forward/reverse" function or "locked neutral". With this Joystick, the forklift driver can use his left hand entirely for steering while his right hand can concentrate exclusively on manipulating the telescopic forklift.
This is not just an ergonomic development but also a true functional innovation, since the new lever makes it easier to perform manœuvres, saving the driver time.
Style and Strength
The hood of the new models is made of fibre and its rounded shape increases the driver's visibility on the right-hand side.
The driver's cabin is more ergonomic with a larger and more solid footplate and a more rounded shape.
The wheel supports are slightly finer and the back of the chassis has been redesigned to integrate the lights better and protect them from damage.
